I barely finished this book after reading book one in this series. I hoped the characters would grow and develop. They didn't. Instead it just repeats the same old formula through book one and now book two.In a way it reminds me of a what could be a 2021 Hollywood PC movie/story. A band of Vikings teams up with a basically inept buffoon, a fantastic female archer and later, a freed slave warrior. Together they stumble their way through one adventure after another escaping peril after peril with no clear rhyme or reason. Really? This is what passes as good fiction?Like I stated earlier, I barely made it though this book. I also started book three but gave up after less than 10 pages as it became clear it was going to be the same old stuff. Reading any further would have been a waste of time. Great story. Just a little to much of a repeat over lay. Get past that the story an you have a lot of action an fun characters.. Know Einar an the Wolf Coats have to get this damn raven banner for there king. But it turns out a lot harder to retrieve an get used by the enemy to go into battle first. Cause alot of Kings what them dead. Even there own King. King less, land less, they gather there straight an head out for revenge. So our boys an lady head out to sea to kick some ass.
